Gooseberry Mesa - a tabletop mesa located west of Zion National Park. This area offers a number of fun mountain bike trails, as well as natural wonders such as pine nuts. cottontails and deer. There is also plenty of cactus to see and you can watch birds of prey in the sky or listen to the wind blowing through the pine trees.

Around the mesa are many great camping spots. You can put up your camp in privacy, or near a trailhead. Some campsites are first come, first served and some require reservations months in advance. Some of these yurts are available, so that you can enjoy a bit of glamping without ever leaving the trails.

Gooseberry Mesa's slickrock singletrack is perfect for mountain bikers. This is an excellent place to learn and improve your skills. It isn't as easy as Moab's slickrock, but the challenges are just as great.

Gooseberry is the perfect place to improve your riding skills, whether you are a beginner or an expert. There are many trails to keep you coming back. You can even rent bikes and ride them out to Gooseberry Mesa Point.

The best rides to take on the mesa are Goose Northeast, Secret Trail and White/Slickrock 101. South Rim & North Rim are two great loop rides which will take to you the top of Gooseberry Mesa.


A great alternative is to stay in the Gooseberry Mesa Yurts which are located right beside the trails. They are very spacious and equipped with bunkbeds, a stove, a lamp and a lantern. The tents do not have running water or electricity, but are a great way to enjoy the trails and stay for a few nights on the mesa.

Bring plenty of water if you're camping at Gooseberry! There is no drinking water on the mesa, so make sure you pack enough.
